About PLA.deals

PLA.deals helps people buy the right PLA filament at a fair price, and helps them choose an FDM 3D printer when it is time for a new one. It is a shopping tool first: pick what you need, see matching products with current prices, and go straight to the retailer.

Filament is harder to compare than it looks. A spool advertised at a low price may hold 250g, not 1kg. A "4 pack" may be four 1kg spools or four 250g samples. Listings for PLA routinely mix in PETG, dryers, spool holders and nozzles. Two spools that both say 1.75mm can still behave very differently in a printer with an automatic material system. We built PLA.deals to take those ambiguities out of the decision.

What the site does

• Records every filament as an exact variant: brand, product line, PLA type, color, diameter, net weight per spool, number of spools and spool type. A single 1kg spool and a 4-pack of the same filament are separate records with separate prices.
• Shows the price per kilogram next to the spool price, calculated from the verified net filament weight, so a multipack and a single spool compare fairly.
• Keeps PLA apart from other materials and from accessories. A search for PLA never returns PETG, a dryer or a spool holder.
• Records printer specifications with their source, and explains which filament suits which printer, including the cases where a spool needs an adapter or a hardened nozzle.
• Shows US prices in US dollars from Amazon.com, each with the time it was last verified.

What the site does not do

We do not test filament or printers. Nobody here has run the spools listed through a printer for this site, and we will not claim otherwise. Our editorial work is research: reading manufacturer documentation, recording specifications with the source they came from, and explaining the trade-offs between options.

We do not publish our own ratings, reviews or review scores, and we do not invent discounts, popularity badges or "best seller" labels. A struck-through price appears only when the retailer itself published a reference price for that offer.

We do not build price history charts or price alerts from Amazon data. Amazon's policies restrict that use, so those features will only ever appear if a source that permits them is in place.
