Choose the A1 mini or A1 if you print mostly PLA, PETG and TPU and want the AMS lite for color, the P1S if you also want ABS and ASA in an enclosed chamber, and the H2D if you need engineering and abrasive filaments with a hardened steel nozzle. The right model is set by materials and build size first, then by the live price in the grid.

Bambu Lab sorts its printers into letter series, and each letter roughly marks a step in materials and enclosure. The A series (A1 mini and A1) covers open-frame printers for everyday filaments. The P series (P1P and P1S) shares one 256mm build volume, with the P1S adding a closed chamber. The H series, led by the H2D, adds a hotter, hardened nozzle and a larger build area. Bambu's lineup also includes newer models such as the P2S, but its spec tables were not readable for this page, so we leave those out rather than guess. Every figure below comes from Bambu's own tech-spec pages, its US store or its published data sheet.

Bambu lists a 180 x 180 x 180mm build volume for the A1 mini (opens in a new tab), a 300°C maximum nozzle temperature, an 80°C maximum bed and a 500mm/s maximum speed. It ships with a 0.4mm stainless steel nozzle, with 0.2, 0.6 and 0.8mm sizes offered as options, and it has Wi-Fi and a camera. Bambu calls PLA, PETG, TPU and PVA ideal and lists ABS, ASA, PC, PA, PET and carbon or glass fiber filled filaments as not recommended. The small bed suits figurines, desk parts and classroom projects, but anything wider than 180mm has to be split.
The A1 (opens in a new tab) keeps the A1 mini's nozzle options, 300°C hot end, 500mm/s maximum speed and material list, and grows the build volume to 256 x 256 x 256mm with a 100°C bed. In liters that is about 16.8 against about 5.8 for the mini, nearly three times the space. Both A-series printers pair with the AMS lite for multi-color printing. Our A1 filament page covers which PLA spools load cleanly into it.
On Bambu's US store, the P1P (opens in a new tab) is listed with the same 256 x 256 x 256mm volume, 300°C nozzle, 100°C bed and 500mm/s maximum speed as the P1S, but as an open frame. Bambu puts PLA, PETG, TPU, PVA and PET on its ideal list and PA, PC, ABS and ASA under capable, and the printer works with the full-size AMS. It suits owners who want the P-series platform and mostly print PLA and PETG.
The P1S data sheet (opens in a new tab) lists an enclosed chamber, 256 x 256 x 256mm volume, 300°C nozzle, 100°C bed, 500mm/s maximum speed, Wi-Fi and a camera. The chamber moves ABS and ASA from capable to ideal: Bambu lists PLA, PETG, TPU, ABS, ASA, PVA and PET as ideal, PA and PC as capable, and carbon or glass fiber filled filaments as not recommended on the stock 0.4mm stainless steel nozzle. For buyers who want one printer that handles both PLA decor and heat-tolerant functional parts, this is the model the spec sheet points to. The P1S filament page goes deeper on spool fit.
Bambu's H2D tech specs (opens in a new tab) list a 350°C nozzle, a 120°C bed, an enclosed chamber, a camera and a 1000mm/s maximum speed. Build volume is 325 x 320 x 325mm for single-nozzle printing and 300 x 320 x 320mm when both nozzles are used. It ships with a hardened steel 0.4mm nozzle, with 0.2, 0.6 and 0.8mm sizes supported, and its material list runs from PLA and PETG through PC, PA and PET to carbon and glass fiber filled grades, PPA-CF and PPS. The H2D is the Bambu printer to look at for abrasive or high-temperature work.
Bambu's wiki still describes the X1 Carbon (opens in a new tab) as a CoreXY machine, but its specification table is no longer published on Bambu's current pages or US store. Without a manufacturer table we do not list its build volume, temperatures or speed here. If you see one offered, confirm the specs with the seller and Bambu support before you buy.

The AMS lite is the A-series feeder. Bambu's store lists it for spools 40 to 68mm wide with a 53 to 58mm inner diameter (opens in a new tab) and says paper spools work on its rotary holder. The full-size AMS pairs with the P1P, P1S and H2D, but we could not find its spool limits on any Bambu page we could reach, so check spool size against Bambu's support pages before buying cardboard or oversized reels. Both units feed one nozzle and purge between colors, so expect waste and extra time on every swap. The multicolor printers page compares this approach with other brands.
The printer finder can narrow these by budget, and the grid shows which are available now. Each price is stamped with the time it was verified against Amazon and falls back to "Check price at Amazon" after 24 hours.
Bambu lists ABS and ASA as not recommended for both the A1 and A1 mini. If those materials matter, the P1S lists them as ideal thanks to its enclosure.
For PLA alone the open P1P covers the same build volume, temperatures and speed. The P1S adds the enclosure, and its data sheet lists Wi-Fi and a camera, which the store page we read for the P1P does not confirm. Those extras matter more if you plan to print ABS or ASA or watch prints remotely.
Bambu lists carbon and glass fiber filled filaments as not recommended on the P1S with its stock stainless steel nozzle. The H2D ships with a hardened steel nozzle and lists those materials.
Its spec page could not be read for this update, and we only publish figures taken from Bambu's own pages. It will be added once those values are confirmed.
