eSUN PLA Filament: PLA+, Matte, High Speed and Silk Lines
Last reviewed
eSUN publishes full temperature, bed and speed data for PLA+ and PLA-Matte, including a 210 to 230°C nozzle range and a 350mm/s ceiling for PLA+, and sells PLA+ in 1kg, 3kg and 5kg sizes. Its high speed and silk lines carry speed or size figures only, so their printer compatibility stays not verified.
Right now 15 eSUN PLA listings have an in-stock price verified in the last 24 hours.

About eSUN
eSUN's store footer describes the company as specializing in the development and production of 3D printing materials. Its US store sorts filament into general, aesthetic, engineering, functional and flexible groups, and also sells resin, a filament dryer box, a vacuum storage kit and a reusable spool. The brand's main product site at esun3d.com refused scripted requests when our research was gathered, so the specs below come from the eSUN store (opens in a new tab) and the technical data sheets it links.
The result is uneven: two lines have complete data, two have a speed rating only, and one has nothing beyond diameter and weight. That pattern shapes how useful each line is for a buyer who wants to check numbers before ordering.
eSUN lines worth considering
PLA+ is the one to start with. It has the most complete data of any eSUN PLA, comes in three spool sizes and has an explicit note for Bambu AMS users. It suits buyers who want a single workhorse filament and may later move to a 3kg or 5kg reel.
PLA-Matte is the second fully documented line, with a wider and lower nozzle window, and suits display parts.
PLA+HS and PLA-HS are for fast printers, but you will be setting temperatures from the spool label. PLA-Silk is for decorative prints, with the same caveat.
PLA+
eSUN's PLA+ store page (opens in a new tab) and data sheet give 1.75mm filament at ±0.03mm, a 210 to 230°C nozzle range, a 45 to 60°C bed and print speeds below 350mm/s. eSUN recommends drying before printing and offers a printable adapter so its 1kg paper spool runs smoothly in a Bambu AMS. Net weights of 1kg, 3kg and 5kg are listed, the larger two as separate store listings.
PLA-Matte
The PLA-Matte page (opens in a new tab) and its data sheet list 1.75mm, a 190 to 230°C nozzle, a 45 to 60°C bed, speeds below 200mm/s and a cardboard spool, sold in 1kg. eSUN recommends drying this line before use too. The page names Bambu Lab printers as compatible but has no AMS statement of its own.
PLA-HS
eSUN's PLA-HS page (opens in a new tab) gives 1.75mm filament on a 1kg spool and frames 250mm/s as a comparison with ordinary PLA printed slowly, rather than as a hard ceiling. No temperatures appear on the store page. The naming is also inconsistent: the page heading says PLA-HS while the browser title says PLA+HS, so check the listing name carefully.
PLA+HS
The PLA+HS page (opens in a new tab) lists 1.75mm at ±0.03mm, 1kg spools and a top speed of 500mm/s, the highest of any eSUN PLA here. It carries the same AMS adapter note as PLA+. A data sheet with temperatures exists on esun3d.com but could not be retrieved, so no nozzle range is stated here.
PLA-Silk
For PLA-Silk (opens in a new tab), eSUN's store gives only 1.75mm and a 1kg spool. Its tolerance is described in words, not a number, and there is no temperature or speed figure. This is the least documented line in the eSUN range.
Comparing the eSUN range
| Line | Nozzle | Bed | Speed | Sizes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| PLA+ | 210 to 230°C | 45 to 60°C | below 350mm/s | 1, 3, 5kg |
| PLA-Matte | 190 to 230°C | 45 to 60°C | below 200mm/s | 1kg |
| PLA-HS | not published | not published | 250mm/s (comparative) | 1kg |
| PLA+HS | not published | not published | up to 500mm/s | 1kg |
| PLA-Silk | not published | not published | not published | 1kg |
PLA+ and PLA-Matte share a bed range, but PLA-Matte starts 20°C lower at the nozzle and is rated at a little over half the speed. The two HS lines trade documentation for speed. Only PLA+ comes in sizes above 1kg, which matters on our bulk PLA page: the grid there ranks listings by price per kg, computed as the offer price divided by total net filament, and each price shows when it was last verified against Amazon, switching to "Check price at Amazon" after 24 hours.
Brands that compete with eSUN
- SUNLU publishes full settings for all five of its PLA lines, including its high speed line, which eSUN does not.
- Polymaker covers similar matte and silk finishes under its Panchroma name and states AMS support for its spools.
- Overture rates its PLA, PLA+ and Matte PLA to 300mm/s with published temperature ranges.
How eSUN lines fit common printers
eSUN PLA+ is compatible on manufacturer specs with the Bambu Lab A1, A1 mini, P1S and H2D and the Creality Ender 3 V3, V3 KE and V3 SE. On the K1, K1 Max and K1C it is compatible with a condition: keep the slicer at eSUN's 350mm/s rather than the printer's 600mm/s. Our K1 PLA page covers that cap in more depth.
PLA-Matte is compatible on the A1, A1 mini and all three Ender 3 V3 models. On the P1S and H2D its cardboard spool earns a condition: fit an adapter ring, respool it, or feed from the external holder. On the K1 family it carries a 200mm/s speed cap. The AMS PLA page explains the spool side, and A1 owners can see the A1 PLA page.
PLA-HS, PLA+HS and PLA-Silk are not verified on every printer we track, because no temperature range is published for them. The P1P and X1 Carbon are not verified for any eSUN line, as Bambu's pages we could reach do not confirm a full spec set for those printers.
Frequently asked questions
Is eSUN PLA+ the same as PLA+HS?
No. PLA+ has a published 210 to 230°C range and a 350mm/s rating. PLA+HS is rated up to 500mm/s, but its temperatures were not available from eSUN's pages.
Do I need to dry eSUN PLA+ before printing?
eSUN's data for PLA+ and PLA-Matte recommends drying before use. Moisture in PLA tends to show up as stringing.
Will eSUN cardboard spools work in an AMS?
eSUN offers a printable adapter for its 1kg paper spool on Bambu AMS units. Our data flags cardboard as a condition for the AMS on the P1S and H2D.
Which eSUN line comes in a 5kg spool?
In our research only PLA+ is listed at 3kg and 5kg, sold as separate listings on eSUN's store.
