All three Flashforge models covered here are CoreXY printers with a 220mm cube build volume, so the choice comes down to the open Adventurer 5M, the enclosed and filtered Adventurer 5M Pro, or the AD5X with its four-channel IFS color system and 300°C nozzle. Pick the 5M Pro for an enclosure, the AD5X for multi-color, and the 5M for plain single-color PLA.
Right now 23 Flashforge PLA listings have and 5 Flashforge printers have an in-stock price verified in the last 24 hours.

Flashforge sells its desktop printers, filament and accessories through flashforge.com and keeps a documentation hub there for its printers, slicer software and filaments. The three printers on this page share one platform, according to Flashforge's own spec tables: CoreXY motion, a 220 x 220 x 220mm build volume, 1.75mm filament and automatic leveling. What changes between them is the shell, the nozzle and whether a color system is included.
One detail matters when you read Flashforge's numbers: the 600mm/s figure on all three pages is a maximum travel speed. On the AD5X page Flashforge also gives a separate maximum print speed of 300mm/s. Travel speed is how fast the head moves when it is not extruding, so it is not the same thing as the print speed other brands headline.
None of the three is a large-format printer, so if single parts must exceed 220mm, look at the competitors listed further down.
Flashforge's Adventurer 5M page (opens in a new tab) lists an open shell, a 280°C extruder, a 100°C platform and a 600mm/s travel maximum on a CoreXY all-metal structure. It has one direct drive extruder with a 0.4mm stainless steel nozzle, Wi-Fi, Ethernet and USB, and no built-in camera. The page ties materials to nozzle size: PLA and PETG with the 0.4mm nozzle, and TPU, PLA-CF and PETG-CF with a 0.6mm nozzle.

The Adventurer 5M Pro (opens in a new tab) keeps the same temperatures, volume and travel figure but closes the shell and adds HEPA and activated carbon filtration plus camera monitoring. ABS and ASA join the material list, with TPU and the carbon-filled grades again assigned to 0.6 or 0.8mm nozzles. Its FAQ answers the multi-color question directly: converting it to a multi-color printer is not supported.

The AD5X (opens in a new tab) includes Flashforge's Intelligent Filament System (IFS) as standard, with four channels. Its extruder reaches 300°C and its bed 110°C, both higher than the 5M models. The stock 0.4mm nozzle is brass alloy with a stainless steel tip, and Flashforge sells 0.6 and 0.8mm hardened steel nozzles for it. Listed materials are PLA, PETG, TPU95A (recommended for single-color printing), TPU64D to 75D, PLA-CF and PETG-CF. There is no camera as standard, and the enclosure is a separate kit.

Flashforge sells its own PLA in 1.75mm (opens in a new tab), matching all three printers. For everyday PLA, the 0.4mm stock nozzle is what Flashforge assigns, and the 280°C or 300°C extruder limits leave plenty of headroom. Carbon-filled PLA is where the models part ways: on the 5M and 5M Pro, Flashforge assigns it to a 0.6mm or larger nozzle, and on the AD5X the 0.6 and 0.8mm nozzles it sells are hardened steel.
On the AD5X, Flashforge describes the IFS as accepting 1.55 to 1.75mm filament (opens in a new tab). The site's spool checks for each model are on the AD5X filament list, the Adventurer 5M filament list and the Adventurer 5M Pro filament list. When those lists show spool offers, the cheapest ranking uses price divided by net filament weight and ignores sample spools of 250g or less.
Flashforge labels 600mm/s as maximum travel speed on all three pages. For the AD5X it separately lists a 300mm/s maximum print speed.
Flashforge's own FAQ says no. If you want color changes, the AD5X ships with the four-channel IFS.
Flashforge lists PLA-CF on all three. On the 5M and 5M Pro it ties PLA-CF to a 0.6mm or larger nozzle, and for the AD5X it sells hardened steel 0.6 and 0.8mm nozzles.
The three covered here do: 220 x 220 x 220mm.
