JAYO PLA Filament: PLA and PLA+ on 1.1kg Rolls

Last reviewed

JAYO sells its PLA and PLA+ as 1.1kg rolls with a stated ±0.02mm tolerance, and rates both for 40 to 80mm/s, with narrow nozzle windows of 200 to 210°C for PLA and 205 to 215°C for PLA+. Both lines are compatible on manufacturer specs with Bambu A1, A1 mini, P1S and H2D and Ender 3 V3 printers, and need an 80mm/s cap on the Creality K1 series.

Right now 15 JAYO PLA listings have an in-stock price verified in the last 24 hours.

What JAYO says about itself

JAYO's store describes the company as a professional manufacturer of 3D printer filaments and resins, and its navigation has just those two categories. Support is split into a technical support page and a contact page. The PLA figures JAYO publishes appear on its multi-roll bundle pages rather than on single spool pages, so the bundle listings are where to look for the numbers.

Two details set JAYO apart from the other brands we cover. Each roll holds 1.1kg of filament instead of the usual 1kg, and both PLA lines carry a modest speed rating of 80mm/s. The first helps on cost, the second limits how JAYO fits on the newest fast printers.

Which JAYO line to choose

  • JAYO PLA suits buyers on bed slinger printers who print at moderate speeds and want an extra 100g per roll.
  • JAYO PLA+ suits the same buyers when they want JAYO's modified formula; it runs 5°C warmer and asks for a cooler bed than plain PLA.

Neither line is a natural fit for printing at full speed on a CoreXY machine. If you own a K1 or similar and want to use its speed, a line with a higher published rating will waste less of the printer's capability, and our budget PLA page covers how to weigh cost against features.

PLA

JAYO's PLA bundle page (opens in a new tab) lists 1.75mm filament with a dimensional accuracy of ±0.02mm, a print temperature of 200 to 210°C, a hot bed of 60 to 80°C and a print speed of 40 to 80mm/s, with 1.1kg per roll. That bed range is high for PLA; many PLA brands top out at 60°C, so if you see elephant's foot on the first layers, try the bottom of JAYO's range first. JAYO does not state the spool material for this line.

PLA+

On the PLA+ bundle page (opens in a new tab) JAYO gives 1.75mm at ±0.02mm, a print temperature of 205 to 215°C, a hot bed of 55 to 65°C and 40 to 80mm/s, again at 1.1kg per roll. Variants are offered on both plastic and cardboard spools, so check which one a listing ships on if you plan to use an AMS. JAYO's only compatibility claim on the page is a general one about FDM printers; there is no AMS statement.

The two lines are close. Both nozzle windows are only 10°C wide, much narrower than the 30 to 40°C spans brands like Overture or SUNLU publish. A narrow window is not a problem if your hotend reads accurately, but it leaves less margin if it runs hot or cold. The bed is where they part ways: PLA+ sits lower and in a tighter band.

The 1.1kg fill matters for comparisons. pla.deals computes price per kg as the offer price divided by the total net filament across all spools, so a five roll JAYO bundle counts as 5.5kg, not 5kg. Our price per kg page explains the method.

Brands to compare with JAYO

  • SUNLU states the same ±0.02mm tolerance with much wider temperature windows and speed ratings of 200mm/s or more.
  • Hatchbox also targets steady, everyday printing, with a 180 to 220°C range and no heated bed required.
  • ELEGOO matches the ±0.02mm figure on 1kg cardboard spools, but publishes no temperatures for its PLA.

Fit on common printers

Both JAYO lines are compatible on manufacturer specs with the Bambu Lab A1, A1 mini, P1S and H2D and the Creality Ender 3 V3, V3 KE and V3 SE: each printer maker lists PLA, diameters match and JAYO's nozzle range sits well inside every printer's limit. A1 owners can compare options on our A1 PLA page.

On the Creality K1, K1 Max and K1C, both lines are compatible with a condition. Those printers are rated to 600mm/s and JAYO rates its PLA to 80mm/s, so cap the slicer profile at 80mm/s. That is a large gap, and it is the main trade off of putting JAYO in a K1; our K1 PLA page explains the cap. The Bambu P1P and X1 Carbon are not verified, because the Bambu pages we could reach do not confirm a full spec set for them. For the AMS, see our AMS PLA page and choose the plastic spool variant where offered.
