3D Printer Deals

Last reviewed

A good 3D printer deal is the edition you actually need at a verified current price, compared like for like with the same machine sold alone or as a Combo. Add the cost of nozzles, build plates and filament before deciding, because the printer price is only the start of what you will spend.

Right now the lowest verified printer price on this list is $199.00, for the Creality Ender-3 V3 SE.

Match the edition before you compare prices

Many FDM printers are sold in two or more editions under one model name. The base printer feeds one filament at a time. A Combo edition adds a multi-material unit that holds several spools and switches between them mid-print. Anycubic lists the Kobra 3 (opens in a new tab) and the Kobra 3 Combo (opens in a new tab) as separate products, the second bundling the ACE Pro feeder. Creality does the same with the Hi and the Hi Combo (opens in a new tab). pla.deals treats each edition as its own variant with its own price, so a Combo is never set against a base printer as though they were the same item.

Decide first whether you want multi-color printing at all. If you mostly make functional parts in one color, the base edition is the honest comparison, and many printers accept an add-on unit later. If you want four colors from the first week, compare Combo against Combo, and check whether the base printer plus the separately sold unit adds up to more or less than the bundle on the day you look.

Bundles that include filament or spare parts

Some listings add spools, a spare nozzle or a second build plate. Extras only have value if you would have bought them anyway. To judge a filament bundle, work out what the same weight of comparable PLA costs on its own, subtract that from the bundle price, and you have what you are really paying for the printer. pla.deals works out filament price per kg as the offer price divided by the total net filament weight across every spool in a listing, and spools of 250g or less are labeled samples, so you can line the included spools up against price per kg listings on equal terms. A bundle that adds two small sample spools is a convenience, not a saving.

What the verified price and timestamp tell you

Every printer price on this page was fetched from Amazon's official associate interface and carries the date and time it was last checked. Once a price is more than 24 hours old it is withdrawn and replaced with "Check price at Amazon", because printer prices can move several times in a week and a stale number is worse than none. The price at checkout on Amazon is the one that applies, so read the figure shown as a snapshot rather than a promise. The full method is on how we rank.

Why some cards show a list price and others do not

A struck-through list price appears only when Amazon itself returns a saving basis for that offer. pla.deals never calculates a discount, never compares against a figure of its own, and never claims a price is a historic low. When Amazon supplies no saving basis, you see the current price alone. A card without a crossed-out figure is not necessarily worse value; it simply has no reference price from Amazon at that moment. Comparing the same edition across brands, or against the manufacturer's own store, tells you more about value than any single reference figure.

Total cost of ownership

The printer is the biggest single purchase, not the last one. Budget for these from the start:

  • Nozzles. Brass nozzles wear quickly with carbon-fiber and glow-in-the-dark filaments. Some printers ship with harder nozzles: Creality lists a hardened steel 0.4mm nozzle on the K1C (opens in a new tab), while ELEGOO sells a hardened steel kit separately for the Neptune 4 (opens in a new tab). If abrasive materials are on your list, a printer that already includes one saves a later purchase.
  • Build plates. Textured and smooth PEI sheets wear with use, and a second plate lets you start the next job while the first one cools.
  • Filament. Over a printer's working life, filament usually costs more than the machine. Multi-material printing also purges plastic at every color change, so a four-color model uses more filament than the same model in one color. Buying larger quantities through bulk PLA listings brings the running cost down.
  • Feeder compatibility. Multi-material units have spool limits. Creality's CFS takes spools up to 202mm across, 68mm wide and 1kg (opens in a new tab), and Anycubic asks owners to avoid cardboard spools in the ACE 2 Pro (opens in a new tab). A cheap spool that will not fit your feeder is not a bargain.

The seasonal pattern

Printer offers on Amazon tend to bunch around the big retail events: Prime Day in the summer, Amazon's second members' event in the fall, and the stretch from Black Friday to Cyber Monday in late November. Brands also clear an outgoing model when its successor arrives. QIDI's own page describes the Q1 Pro (opens in a new tab) as discontinued and replaced by the Q2, which is the sort of moment when remaining stock of an older machine can be sold for less. We do not forecast how deep any event will go. If you are not in a hurry, watch the grid during those windows; if you need a printer now, judge the offer on its edition, its extras and its running costs rather than waiting for a date on the calendar.

A checklist before you click through

  1. Is this the base printer or a Combo, and is that the one you want?
  2. Is the price timestamp inside the last 24 hours?
  3. If there is a crossed-out price, it came from Amazon; if not, compare editions yourself.
  4. What do the included extras really add once the filament is priced per kg?
  5. Will you need a hardened nozzle, a spare plate or a particular spool format?

Frequently asked questions

Is a Combo edition always better value than the base printer?

Only if you will use the multi-material unit. A Combo includes hardware you pay for whether or not you print in color, and it consumes extra filament purging between colors. If you mostly print single-color parts, the base edition is the fairer comparison.

Why does a printer show "Check price at Amazon" instead of a number?

Its last successful price check is more than 24 hours old. We hide the number past that point rather than show something that may be out of date, and it returns as soon as a fresh check succeeds.

Does a crossed-out price prove the deal is genuine?

It means Amazon supplied a reference price for that offer, nothing more. pla.deals does not compute discounts or track price history, so judge the offer on the edition, the extras and what comparable printers cost today.

Should I wait for Black Friday to buy a 3D printer?

If you can wait, the major retail events are a sensible time to look. If you want to start printing now, a fairly priced printer bought today will produce months of parts before the next sale arrives, so weigh that time against any possible saving.

Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply to the purchase of this product.
